Children's ministry Programs
Students pursue training in children's ministry through three primary avenues:
• The Leadership Certificate in Childhood and Weekday Education
• Master of Arts in Christian Education with a concentration in children's ministry
• Master of Divinity with a concentration in children's ministry

Marcia McQuitty, Ph.D.
• Associate professor of children’s ministry, 1992-present

• Minister of preschool and childhood education in Texas for 11 years
Karen Kennemur, Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor of children’s ministry, 2006-present
• Doctoral student, academic advisor and adjunct professor, 2004-2006
• Minister of childhood education in Texas churches for 7 years
Doorway to a Ph.D.
After completing the master’s program with a concentration in children's ministry, you can continue your education in the doctoral program. Doctoral students focus their studies on understanding the spiritual development of children in the context of the family and the church.
Opportunities For Service
Students in our children's ministry programs will find places of service in a variety of ministries: for example, serving on church staff positions or as teachers in weekday education or in Christian schools and colleges. The number of places to serve far exceeds the number of graduates in children's ministry.
