Jill Sprenger
Professor of Piano

817-923-1921 ext.3240

Having grown up in a family of music teachers, it is no surprise that music and teaching are two life-long passions of Dr. Sprenger.  In teaching all levels of piano, from the early childhood beginner to the advanced doctoral student, she has developed a broad perspective of the importance of music for all God’s people.  She is an active performer, much sought-after lecturer and adjudicator, and current church keyboardist, having performed in a large range of church music styles.

Dr. Sprenger has degrees from Oberlin College/Conservatory of Music, Indiana University, the Vienna Hochschule, and the University of Southern California.  Her teachers have included Maurice Hinson, Menahem Pressler, and John Perry.  She has recently founded a seminary music preparatory school, the Southwestern Music Academy, and is an active board member of the Fort Worth Music Teachers Association.  Her high school students have won numerous state and national competitions before going on to music conservatories such as Oberlin and Peabody.  She is keyboardist/harpsichordist with the Dallas Chamber Orchestra and has spent her previous sabbatic leave doing further piano study in Italy.
