The Spring Revival Evangelism Program (SREP) at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary is an historic program aimed at serving Southern Baptists as a catalyst for revival. Since 1959, more than 5,500 students and professors have spent a week during their spring semester preaching revivals and ministering in more than 4,850 churches.  God has blessed this partnership with more than 14,000 professions of faith. From street corners and front doors to pulpits and pews, we continue to have one aim: preaching Christ. Participants consistently tell us that this program has opened their eyes to the need for workers in the fields.

Our partnership with churches makes this ministry successful. Churches host revival meetings where our students preach the Word of God from the pulpit and on the streets. We are eager to go, but we need partner churches to provide opportunities for our students and professors.

Features of the Spring Revival Evangelism Program:

  • Southwestern Seminary recruits churches to hold revival meetings in the spring and pays for the roundtrip transportation of students to these churches.
  • The host church provides meals, lodging and local transportation for the student while they are on the field.
  • Revival meetings generally begin on Sunday morning March 13 and end on Wednesday evening March 16, 2011, providing students with five preaching opportunities.
  • The students partner with the pastor to engage lost people from the host community in evangelism during the weekdays.
  • The program has been expanded to send revival preachers to all lower 48 states.
