FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – David Lowrie, an alumnus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and president of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT), recently became pastor at the First Baptist Church of El Paso, Texas.
According to the El Paso Times, Lowrie moved from his former pastorate in Canyon, Texas, with an interest in El Paso’s culturally diverse population and outreach opportunities among the city’s military families and in the border-town of Juárez, Mexico.
A pastor with 27 years of experience, Lowrie earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary in 1986. He is currently serving in his second term as president of the BGCT.
