George Klein

Professor of Old Testament, Senior Associate Dean for the Research Doctoral Program, and Chair of the Old Testament Department

Dr. George Klein’s research presently focuses on Zechariah as he prepares the New American Commentary volume on this important Minor Prophet. His research competencies concern Old Testament exegesis broadly. His thesis, dissertation, and published works examine Hebrew syntax and its contribution to biblical interpretation. Dr. Klein also researches in Old Testament poetical theory. Not surprisingly, the book of Psalms holds his deep interest. He does research in Hebrew lexicography and Old Testament textual criticism. In addition to assorted published articles, he has edited a theological journal and a volume of essays on Old Testament interpretation, Prophetic Mantle, and recently served on the OT editorial board for the Bulletin for Biblical Research.
