David Hutchison serves as Assistant Professor of New Testament. While teaching New Testament and Greek, Hutchison hopes to impart to students a love and trust for the word of God, the ability and desire to use Greek throughout ministry, and an attitude of Christ-like humility which characterizes our service to one another. Hutchison's publications have focused on New Testament textual criticism and Bible software. His research interests include the development of tools to assist ministers in using Greek and the digital transcription of Greek New Testament manuscripts.
Prior to joining the Houston faculty, Hutchison served on staff for 10 years at the Fort Worth campus, working with master's programs in the School of Theology. He also served for three years as an adjunct professor. Hutchison has served the church as a Sunday School teacher, department director, children’s volunteer, interim pastor, and interim youth and music minister.
Hutchison grew up in Arlington, Texas. He met his wife Mary Ann at Oklahoma Baptist University. The Hutchisons have three children, Elizabeth, Noah, and Emma.
